Dear John,
April was a big month for the Legacy Planning team. On April 12, I celebrated my 20th year anniversary at Chapman University. Having started as the director of alumni and parent relations and later transitioning into legacy planning, I truly feel fortunate to be a part of the Chapman Family. April 18 marked the 10th year that Lindsey Jacobs has worked in legacy planning at Chapman University. She started as a development assistant and is now our associate director. She’s the best hire of my 30-year career, and I say that knowing that I have hired some pretty incredible people through the decades. Our 20 and 10 years of service, however, are just a blink when compared with that of President-emeritus Jim Doti, who started teaching at Chapman 50 years ago in 1974. Wow! That’s just the kind of special place that Chapman University is for all of us. We love the mission, the people and the promise for the future. What’s the longest you’ve been employed somewhere, and what kept you there? Let me know! I can be reached at (714) 516-4590 and [email protected]. Lindsey Jacobs, associate director, can be reached at (714) 628-7311 and [email protected].

In an instant in 2009, a stroke changed the trajectory of Johnson’s life and she faced years of recovery to rebuild the bodily autonomy that she lost. Fortunately, Johnson connected with a program at Chapman University that helps rehabilitate stroke victims through novel technology and personalized care at no cost to patients. Read More »
